Change on the Horizon

Well, change is on the horizon again for me. These past weeks have been full of friends and amazing moments where you realize that it is what life is all about. I was given this letter today and think that everyone should read it:

If I had my life to live again, I'd dare to make more mistakes next time. I'd relax. I'd limber up. I'd be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances, I would take more trips, I would climb mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice-cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles but fewer imaginary ones. You see, I'm one fo those people who was sensible and sane, hour after hour, day after day.

Oh, I've had my moments. If I had to do it over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else- just moments, one after another, instead of living so many hears ahead of each day. I've been one of those people who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat and a parachute. If I could do it again, I would travel lighter then I have.

If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances, I would ride more merry-go-rounds, I would pick more daisies, I would take more risks.

Everyone will come to a point where they can take the safe path, or take a leap of faith.

Take the leap.

I just did.

I will be better for it.

Thank you Ruth for this.

PS - I know this isn't a makeup post, but now I will have time to really dig into this. More to come.

  1. The day is young! There are many more risks to be had and if you need a partner in crime you KNOW that's me :)
